Last month, I went on an AMAZING GIRL’S TRIP to COSTA RICA. We spent our DAYS at the BEACH or POOL, had DINNERS out, and even went HIKING IN THE RAINFOREST.
One of the most unforgettable experiences during our trip was our evening at Cactus De Pinilla with Chef Albin Valles. He taught us how to make traditional Guanacaste corn tortillas, just like his mother and grandmother had taught him. The talented kitchen crew then transformed our tortillas into “tayuyás,” which are special stuffed tortillas featured on the Cactus menu. Each tayuyá is named after a woman in Albin’s family..

We had the opportunity to have so many unique experiences! One afternoon, we went to an artisan chocolate and cacao tasting. We must have tasted 20 different flavors! Have you ever heard of SIPPING CHOCOLATE? It’s rich and slightly sweet, and DECADENT. REINA’S Chocolates is a small shop in Tamarindo, C.R. Ron, the owner is very passionate about the products he and his team create, and listening to him talk about his chocolate-making process was interesting! We capped off the trip with a stroll through the tropical gardens on the property.
