Building a home in the Pacific Northwest has taught us one thing: the weather runs the show! Rain delays, muddy sites, and surprise windstorms have been our biggest challenges by far!

Kenai’s story began in a Walmart parking lot, where a lady who owned both the mom and dad of the kittens was giving them away. When I arrived, there were four kittens left: two black ones and two tabbies. One of the tabbies had a gray chest, and the other had a white chest. I chose her simply because of that little white chest—it was love at first sight.

The funny part? I wasn’t at all prepared to bring a kitten home. I had nothing to carry her in or care for her, so I dashed into Walmart and grabbed all the beginner essentials. Somehow, we made it work, and Kenai has been the sweetest companion ever since.
